Beaches in and around Barcelona
If you’ve never thought about Costa Brava as a vacation location then you must give it a look. There are two faces to this stunning part of Spain. There’s the side that deals with the party loving nightclub and beach crowd, and then there’s the more delicate more idyllic side. There are just a few villages that are a part of the traveller party reputation, but what they lack in number they make up for in atmosphere! The real face of the Costa Brava is legendary for relaxation with an emphasis on spa treatments and historic design instead of nightclubs. If you like your weather warm though not hot and stifling, then the Costa Brava is the spot for you! Fly to BCN airfield and savour a Flughafentransfer Barcelona.
The hostels mirror the two different sides of the area. One side is very much targeted on inexpensive basic Costa Brava hostels for younger travellers who are way more inquisitive about beach life and clubbing than the way the hotel looks. The opposite side of the hotels in Costa Brava look after the holiday makers who want to be made to feel special on their vacation. These Costa Brava hostels offer some kind of luxury even for those on a lower budget - although naturally some hostels in Costa Brava offer expensive exclusivity! An alternative choice to making a hotel booking is to consider renting one of the Costa Brava apartments. Though this might appeal to visitors who hope to have room service and girls turning down their freshly laundered sheets each night, apartments in Costa Brava could work out a lot more economical for travellers travelling in tiny groups, especially if they’re staying for a couple of weeks.
There are several places you may visit on your vacation to Costa Brava. Roses, a resort near to the French border blends Spanish culture with French to offer a completely unique mixture of the two. Figueres, situated close to Roses, is the artist Salvador Dali’s birthplace. He and his wife designed the Teatre-Museu Gala Salvador Dali which you can see there. You can escape the primary traveller traps by going to Calella, found close to Barcelona - here you can have a more authentic look at Spanish life.
If you are not much into cultural sightseeing, Javea is the best place to go to as there’s plenty to do there. Playa de Arenal is a pretty beach there with lots of space - so long as it isn’t too bursting with people ( which can happen in high season ). This area is not particularly cheap so if you are on a strict budget you might like to go to Denia instead - and here you may also get the ferry across to Mallorca and Ibiza or Barcelona Reisen.
For those that like to go further out, Alicante is a place with many city sights and beach-based activities to explore. With historic design and wonderful beaches, there’s something for everyone!
The area means different things to different folk, you could even get the idea that they aren’t talking about the same place! That’s because it is so diverse and offers so many opportunities to have a great vacation. The social scene may not be as frenetic as Ibiza but it is’s still a cool place for a holiday!
