Valencia

Valencia is a city as well as a province located on the eastern coast of Spain. As one of the three primary cities and commerce locations in the country of Spain, Valencia is both a cultural as well as a business hub. The city itself was first founded in 137 BC and has withstood a great many changes throughout its history.

The weather in Valencia is beautiful most of the year with lots of sun and moderate rain levels to keep the area rich and green with vegetation and flowers. The beaches are very popular tourist attractions and bring in visitors from around the world to simply relax and enjoy the sun or participate in the various water activities such as fishing and sailing. Unlike many of the older cities in Europe Valencia is known as a younger person’s city, with lots of opportunities for nightlife and entertainment to suit almost any taste. There are dance clubs, bars and theatres that are all within easy walking distance of most of the major hotels and accommodations; some which are right along the beach. Unlike some cities with just one major area of nighttime entertainment, Valencia tends to have many different sites for entertainment, providing tourists and visitors with lots of reasons to explore the city and surrounding towns.

There are many museums and historical sites to take in while visiting Valencia. A must see location is the City Hall Square that is beautifully lit at night as well as the Fountain Plaza de la Virgen which is truly beautiful with its statues and wonderful fountain. The City of Arts and Sciences building, as well as L’Hemisfèric, which is the Planetarium, are unique architecture buildings that are as interesting to look at as the amazing displays held within. L’Oceanogràfic, which is the largest acquarium complex in Europe is a true wonder with an underwater restaurant and exhibits from around the world of some of the rarest sea life.

The amazing variety in the city of Valencia provides an ideal vacation spot for couples, individuals or even families with children. Since the busiest tourist season is between June and September it is important to book accommodations well in advance or consider staying a bit off the beaten path if you are booking last minute.
