Spain Cities
from Your Spain GuideOne of the greatest attractions of a visit to Spain is the chance to visit some of its fantastic cities. From the large cosmopolitan cities of Madrid and Barcelona, to the smaller, traditional cities, such as Santiago de Compostela or Jerez, there’s something for everybody.
Cities for All Tastes
The first names that come to mind when thinking of cities in Spain (after Madrid and Barcelona) are those of Seville, Cordoba or Granada, in Andalusia. These are cities full of wonderful sights to visit and steeped in their own charm and traditions. But even in Andalusia there are other hidden gems of cities, like Jerez, the home of sherry, or Sanlucar de Barrameda, on the Cadiz coast.
Spain offers cities of all types, for all tastes. You can find bustling cities full of life, ideal for young people looking for a really active nightlife. But there are other cities that on the surface seem very traditional and quiet. At night, however, you’ll probably find much more life than you expected.
On this website our aim is to introduce you to the different cities in Spain and help you to understand what each one can offer you. We’ll tell you what you can see, what you should visit, where you can stay, where you should eat…. And, if there are areas that you should avoid, we’ll certainly tell you about that as well.
Choosing the Cities
We had a terrible time trying to decide which Spanish cities we would include in this guide. There are so many that it is impossible to include them all. In the end we decided to begin with the cities known to most people – after all, that’s probably what you were looking for when you visited the website. So we’ll begin with places like Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Granada, Cordoba, Toledo, Santiago de Compostela, etc.
Over time we’ll then start adding information about cities we love but that are not so well known to international visitors. These include such gems as Caceres and Trujillo in Extremadura, Ronda and Malaga in Andalusia….
Have a look around our site by clicking on any of the links in the navigation bars in either of the side columns. Below this article you’ll also find a list of related articles about cities in Spain.
We hope you enjoy the information here – and above all we hope that you find it useful. Of one thing we’re sure - when you get to Spain you’ll definitely find your visit to any of the cities listed here absolutely great!
